Address search

An address you type is sent from this site's server to the US Census Bureau's geocoder and, if the Census can't match it, to OpenStreetMap's Nominatim, to turn it into a map position. Your IP address is not passed along. Searches are held in memory briefly to answer repeat lookups and are not logged or stored.

Your location

“Use my location” asks your browser for your position, which is used only to place the pin. It is not sent anywhere except as part of the map's own data requests, which only fetch the area around the pin.

Analytics

Google Analytics counts page views and the share button's use so the site owner can see which pages get used. It sets cookies; a content blocker will stop it without breaking the map.

Contact form

Messages and the email address you give are used to reply to you, and are not shared, sold or added to a list.

Owner names in the records

Water-right owners of record are public in every state shown. See About the data for how names and addresses are handled.
